Theater fire in North Randall ruled arson

Fire breaks out at old Magic Johnson Theater

NORTH RANDALL, OH (WOIO) - The vacant theater fire in North Randall has been ruled arson, said the state fire marshal.

The fire started at the old Magic Johnson Theater in North Randall Thursday around 9 p.m. The theater is in the closed Randall Park Mall.

Flames could be seen shooting out the roof of the theater.

Warrensville Heights Fire helped North Randall Fire, and Maple Heights was also called in for assistance. The flames were under control by 11 p.m.

Randall Park Mall was closed in 2009. Demolition of the structure started in 2014.
