CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A man was killed early Saturday after his girlfriend's reckless driving landed her car on an exit ramp and resulted in a collision in Cleveland.
According to a report from Cleveland Police, 26-year-old Lynette Lawson had an argument with boyfriend Stacey Moore, 27. Lawson then left in her Chevrolet Impala, driving south on East 25th Street with Moore hanging onto the outside of the vehicle on the left side of the hood. Police say evidence indicated that Lawson accelerated and operated recklessly over the south curb of the street, hitting a park bench, steel guardrail and chain link fence before going airborne and landing on the westbound I-90 exit ramp.
At the same time as the car's landing, 38-year-old Lanisha Bowen was driving down the ramp and did not have time to react before colliding with the left side of the Chevrolet. Moore was found pinned under the left rear side of the Chevrolet.
Moore was rushed to MetroHealth, where he was pronounced dead. Lawson suffered soft-tissue injuries, showed indications of alcohol impairment and was treated at MetroHealth.
Bowen and passenger Latisha Bowen each suffered soft tissue injuries and were treated at MetroHealth.
No charges have been filed.
