CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A 27-year-old man was killed early Saturday when he was pinned under a car he was hanging onto when it went airborne and crashed.

Cleveland police said Stacey Moore was hanging on to the hood of a Chevrolet Impala being driven by his girlfriend, Lynette Lawson, 26, when she took off.

The couple had gotten into an argument and Lawson drove southbound on East 25th Street, running over a curb and striking a park bench, steel guardrail and chain-link fence.

She kept going and went airborne, landing on the Interstate 90 westbound exit ramp to Chester Avenue, police said.

When the car hit the ground, a Kia Sorrento SUV hit the Impala.

Police said Moore was found pinned under the left rear of the Impala. He was pronounced dead at MetroHealth Medical Center.

Lawson, the driver and passenger in the SUV were treated for minor injuries.

Charges are pending against Lawson.
