Parma man facing federal sex trafficking charges

PARMA, OH (WOIO) - A 54-year-old  Parma man accused of sex trafficking of children will be arraigned in federal court Monday.

Authorities first got wind of Richard Purnell in November 2015 when the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force found an online advertisement for a "lovely college girl" who has a "thing for older men."  Photos were attached to this advertisement and appeared to indicate a female under the age of 18. After investigating agents found that the “lovely college girl” was in fact 14 years of age.

Purnell was taken into custody arrested on May 6, 2016 and has been in the Parma jail since Friday night.
