CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - UH PARMA: Due to a major fiber cut with Cox Communications, UH Parma Medical Center, UH Parma Hospice and UH Parma Health Education Center are unable to place or receive external calls on their landlines.
Most patients and families can of course call in and out on personal cell phones.
While the line is being repaired, emergency phones have been provided throughout the hospital for outgoing calls. Cell phones have also been provided to designated critical areas.
If families have loved ones in the hospital, they are advised to contact them with personal cell phones.
Local emergency dispatch services are aware of the outage and will use those alternate numbers for coordinating patient transport.
UH's information technology team is working with Cox Communications to provide updates as they are available. To date, there is no timeline from Cox about when the repair to this line will be complete.
LAKEWOOD: The phones at Lakewood City Hall aren't functioning right now, police lines are unaffected. Cox Communications are working to resolve the issue. Visit onelakewood.com/directory for list of emails by department.
ROCKY RIVER: Alert: RRPD non-emergency 440.331.1234 telephone line is out of service. Call 440.331.1212 for non-emergency police service.
FAIRVIEW PARK: Lt. Shepard with Fairview Park PD says land lines are down because of Cox Communications issue. 911 still works, so he is asking residents if there is an issue to call 9-1-1 instead of the administration line.
