AVON LAKE, OH (WOIO) - An Avon Lake woman was sentenced Wednesday for the 2011 murder of her own husband.

Jeanne Harrington, was convicted recently of killing her husband, Michael Gabel, at their Avon Lake home. You can only imagine the torment for the family in this case going on for four years, when they say they suspected her all along.

She was found guilty of incapacitating him with a stun gun, then wrapping his head in saran wrap until he suffocated.

Police said she tried to cover it up as a suicide, but they were onto her from the start.

The judge sentenced her to 16 years to life.

The victim's daughter, Lauren Gabel, wished it would've been longer.

"These are terrible crimes, done a very, very awful way and I think she's still harboring some of that inside of her, so I don't think they'll let her out anytime soon," Gabel said.

Lauren explained her father actually warned her that his wife was dangerous and to stay away.

She added she so wishes he would've taken his own advice.
