CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Fast and Furious franchise is in Cleveland.
"Fast 8" begins filming Wednesday, but Monday night into early Tuesday morning the crew was at E. 11th and Prospect getting in some practice shots.
Expect car chases, car flips, shooting, and cars crashing into buildings and motorcades.
Filming will be in and around Public Square, including East 9th Street, Chester Avenue, Euclid Avenue, Ontario Street, Prospect Avenue, Superior Avenue and Vincent Avenue. Only a few roads will be closed at a time.
May 18 - 20
Superior Ave. will be closed - Roadway to E. 12th (6 a.m. - 8 p.m.)
E. 9th will be periodically closed, but not at peak times (6 a.m. - 8 p.m., 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.)
June 2 - 4
St. Clair Ave. will be closed W. 3rd to E. 12th (6 a.m. - 8 p.m.)
The filming wraps up June 8.
The movie, which takes place in New York City, is slated to open on April 4, 2017.
