CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - You never really know what you'll see in a Fast and Furious movie except lots of unbelievable action involving dare-devil driving, fast cars, explosions, chases and crashes too. Some of that action is going to be filmed right here in The Land, the 216, the CLE.
They officially start filming Wednesday. But Cleveland 19 crews spotted them checking things out this morning. Fast and Furious 8 is bringing it. But be prepared if you come into downtown -- you will be impacted by all the action as they close down streets and re-route buses. This morning's activity was at 11th and Prospect and was just a bit of prepping for the real excitement coming to a screen near you in early April 2017.
As you know, the action-packed movie centers around illegal street racing and car heists.
Fast and Furious fans can expect the usual car chases, car flips, shooting and cars crashing into building and motorcades and high-flying rescues.
All of the action of Fast and Furious 8 comes at cost called "inconvenience." The filming will also use downtown parking lots for trucks and equipment and catering for crews and actors once they get to town.
There will be multiple road closures and RTA route changes. Check the home page of Cleveland 19 for details.
