TWINSBURG, OH (WOIO) - Police have released bodycam video after a 76-year-old man was shot and killed by a Twinsburg police officer. The shooting happened September 1, 2015 at 2425 Sherwin Drive.

Police were called to the home for a reported "active shooter."

When police arrived they saw Scott Robert Shaw, 55, lying outside on the ground near the home with visible wounds. Police said his dad, Charles Robert Shaw, was close to the body and reloading the gun and cocking the hammer.

Officers issued several commands to put the gun down, but Charles Shaw did not comply and then pointed the gun at officers, police said.

Officer James Swope fatally shot the 76-year-old. Swope is 32-year-old man who has been on the force for 3.5 years.

The shooting was ruled justified on May 3.
