WESTLAKE, OH (WOIO) - A Westlake man was arrested after he threatened another driver with a gun.
The altercation happened around noon on May 24.
According to police William Keener, 67, pulled up beside a car occupied by a 64-year-old woman and her husband, 71.
Words were exchanged, and Keener deliberately crashed his vehicle into the couple's several times.
Both then pulled over on Detroit Rd. and Keener got out his car threatening to kill the other drivers.
The male passenger then picked up his holstered weapon and said he had a concealed carry permit.
Keener announced that he had a concealed carry permit too and reached for a .45 semiautomatic pistol he had in his waistband and dared the other man to shoot.
Luckily five Westlake Police officers responded before any shots were fired and separated the men. A second pistol was found in the passenger compartment of Keener's vehicle. Both weapons were taken as evidence.
Keener was arrested for felonious assault, aggravated menacing, possession of criminal tools, criminal damaging, and criminal mischief. His bond has been set at $5000 and a protection order issued to keep him away from the victims.
He'll be back in Rocky River Municipal Court on June 2.
