CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - This Memorial Day weekend may have come with a chance of showers, but with temperatures racing up into the 80s, many headed to the beach. With new access from the Detroit Shoreway and Gordon Square Neighborhoods, the beach and the park were packed for the unofficial start of summer.
"It's a good day to go swimming," said one little girl who just got out of the water.
Another holiday tradition full of good food is the Tremont Greekfest. You can get your Greek on until Monday night.
"I come every year. I make sure it's on the calendar and on the Facebook page. I pretty much plan around it," said Patrick Flanigan.
The Taste of Summer on the East Bank of the Flats fills the void left by the cancellation of the Great American Rib Cook-Off. Visitors can get the flavor of the area's new restaurants all in one convenient location.
If you're still craving ribs, head to Berea. With over a dozen rib vendors, the Rib Cook-Off at the fairgrounds will definitely satisfy cravings.
