SANDUSKY, OH (WOIO) -

A man who said his nephew shot himself was arraigned in Sandusky Municipal Court Wednesday. Ervin Clinton, Jr. was arrested earlier in the day at Greenfield Village Mobile Homes in Sandusky County.

He's charged with felony child endangering for his alleged involvement in accidentally shooting Jordy Clinton.

The 7-year-old boy was shot above the shoulders Sunday at a home on Center Street. Neighbors said there were several adults in the home when the shooting happened.

Clinton Jr., Jordy's uncle, called 911 and stated the boy shot himself.

Investigators say the boy later said the uncle was responsible, according to the Associated Press. The AP reports the boy was shot in the cheek area, but is expected to recover.

Police have not said who owns the gun.

Clinton, Jr.'s bond was set at $20,000. He'll be back in court June 7.
