AKRON, OH (WOIO) - An inmate was left inside a transport van last week, and the Akron police officer responsible could face disciplinary action.
When the officer took two inmates and their paperwork to the Summit County Jail, he forgot a third person inside the van, according to authorities. They said that third inmate was asleep when he took the vehicle back to the police station and parked it in a parking garage.
When the jail called to locate Stacy Carritz, 21, of Akron, the officer went back to the van and woke her up.
She was in the van for less than two hours and did not require any medical attention.
