A bomb threat prompted the evacuation of a Summit County Walmart on Sunday. No explosives were found after a sweep of the area.
A manager at the store reported a call from a man claiming to be with the Stow Fire Department around 2 p.m. The manager said he asked if the fire alarms were up to date, and indicated there was a pipe bomb located at the Walmart on Hudson Drive.
The manager said he spoke with some sort of foreign accent, though police were unable to determine if the accent was genuine.
A 911 call was placed to the Stow police about 10 minutes later.
No injuries or property damage were reported after a sweep by the Summit County Bomb Unit. The incident remains under investigation.
