ELYRIA, OH (WOIO) -

Two brothers turned themselves in for a fatal hit-skip accident on Thursday.

Police say the accident happened around 4:45 a.m. on State Route 57 and Schaden Rd. The car, driven by 24-year-old Andre Sanford, hit a 47-year-old motorcyclist, who later died at UH in Elyria. Sanford and his 21-year-old brother, Allen, who was a passenger in the car, fled on foot after the crash.

Andre turned himself in to Elyria police around 6:30 a.m. He was treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital. Allen turned himself in a short time later.

Both are being held at the Lorain County Jail. Andre, who has no bond, is charged with failure to stop after an accident, while Allen, who is being held on a $100,000 bond, is charged with obstructing justice. Additional charges are pending.
