CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

In addition to the thousands of fans at Progressive Field cheering on the Cleveland Indians Friday afternoon, Cleveland's most famous champion addressed the crowd before first pitch.

"I'm here for these guys over here. Just like you guys were behind our bench for the championship run, we all have to rally together for their championship run. Believe something Cleveland -- It's always us against the world!" yelled LeBron James.

Back in 2007 it was reported that LeBron James would be rooting for the New York Yankees if they were to face the Indians in the division series. Well fast forward nine years later, it seems the NBA Champion has had a change of heart.

James didn't make the opener, but made sure he was at Progressive Field on Friday for Game 2.

Also with James was teammates Richard Jefferson, James Jones, Dahntay Jones and J.R. Smith, currently a free agent but expected to re-sign with the Cavs.

The Indians won Thursday night's game, beating the Boston Red Sox 5-4.
