ASHTABULA COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - Police are still searching for the suspect who shot a 22-year-old man on I-90 in Ashtabula County last Wednesday.
David Hargesheimer called police around 10:30 p.m. saying that someone had tried to run him off the freeway. While on the phone with police, he was shot in the leg. The suspect fired four shots at his car.
Hargesheimer was taken to Geneva Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. According to his father, Hargesheimer didn't know who was driving the other car.
"He's lucky he's alive," his father said. "There's a child's seat in the back seat. He's got a kid. So, he's lucky the kid wasn't in the back seat of the car."
On Thursday night, Hargesheimer told Cleveland 19's Shelby Miller that he was still waiting to be released from the hospital and that he can't move his left foot or his toes.
The suspect drives a gold Chevy Malibu. The car continued eastbound on I-90 following the shooting.
