PARMA, OH (WOIO) - A 44-year-old man died in Parma jail a day after being released from MetroHealth into the custody of police because of misdemeanor warrants.
Authorities said they are not releasing information about the man's medical condition.
Dmitriy Frunza went to Metro on Friday and on Saturday he was cleared by the hospital and taken to jail where he was in an observation cell for 14 hours, according to police.
He was moved to his own cell and found dead at 9 a.m. Sunday. Foul play is not suspected and there are no obvious signs of trauma, according to police.
The medical examiner is working to determine the cause of death. The situation remains under investigation.
