Nature's Bin in Lakewood closing after 41 years

LAKEWOOD, OH (WOIO) - A natural foods grocery store in Lakewood will be closing it's doors for good, due to a lack of sales and competition.

Nature's Bin posted the announcement on the company's Facebook page Tuesday stating their last day would be Nov. 12.

"The store has been an important part of our community for decades and its sad news that it is closing," said Lakewood Mayor Mike Summers.

Despite the store closing, officials say Nature's Bin Catering will continue to operate for catering customers.

It is with a heavy heart that we tell you that Nature's Bin is closing its doors after more than 41 years. As shoppers' options to purchase natural and organic products have expanded, we have experienced a dramatic decline in sales and Cornucopia can no longer continue to operate Nature's Bin.

The last day for retail sales will be November 12, 2016.

Cornucopia will continue to provide job placement and employment services for people with disabilities as well as job training at its programs at the Cornucopia Vocational Training Center, Eliza Jennings, Jennings Center, T.J. Maxx and Darice Wholesale Crafts.

Nature's Bin Catering will continue to provide healthy, delicious food for catering customers.

We thank you for being a Nature's Bin customer and we hope you will continue to support Cornucopia in its efforts to empower people with disabilities through job training and placement.
