SUMMIT COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers arrested a man for allegedly trafficking in marijuana after a pound of pot was found in his car during a traffic stop.
Police pulled over 30-year-old Richard T. Eichert's 2005 Honda CRV around 3:50 p.m. on Oct. 6 for an equipment violation on the Ohio Turnpike near milepost 178 in Summit County. While speaking with the car's occupants, troopers smelled marijuana, leading them to search the vehicle.
In addition to the pound of drugs, three syringes and a spoon were also found. The contraband is worth $5,000.
Eichert, who is from Denver, CO, was arrested and is being held at the Summit County Jail. He was charged with trafficking, a fourth-degree felony, and possession, a fifth-degree felony.
