CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The remains of an Elyria man who was killed at Pearl Harbor arrived at the Clevleand-Hopkins International Airport from Honolulu just after noon on Thursday.
Rudolph Piskuran was one of 429 sailors killed at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941 when a torpedo struck the USS Oklahoma. 2,403 people were killed that day.
His body will be received by family before being buried at St. Mary's Cemetary in Elyria in a public ceremony on Friday morning. The funeral procession will also include the North Ridgeville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9871, Pride for Veterans of Columbia Station and North Ridgeville police.
Piskuran, who was in the boy's chorus and junior a capella chorus while a student at Elyria High School, will also be honored by the Elyria High School a capella chorus at the cemetery.
