SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) - Three juveniles have been detained in the Shaker Heights case in which two 8-year-old girls said high school aged boys offered them candy to get into the vehicle.
It happened Tuesday afternoon at the 21000 block of Rye Road.
The girls were playing outside when a blue SUV stopped next to them. The suspects asked if the girls were riding bikes and they said no, according to police.
After being offered candy, the girls went inside and told their parents who then called police.
Detectives are working to find out if it was just a juvenile act, with the teens saying they were never trying to "entice" the children.
The case is being investigated.
