BRUNSWICK, OH (WOIO) - A 51-year-old fugitive was arrested in Rittman after officers from the Brunswick Police Department named him as a suspect in a burglary case.
The Brunswick police believed the man had burglarized a relative's home and stole a safe containing a large amount of money. Officers learned he had been in several states including Kentucky, Missouri and Nevada over the last two months.
On Thursday, information came in that he would be returning to Rittman, and officers were able to arrest him without incident while he was standing in the garage of his residence with the overhead door open.
The man told officers he had just rode back from Las Vegas on his motorcycle.
Officers found a small handgun in his jacket pocket. He now faces the additional charge of having weapons under disability, a third degree felony. Two knives were also found on his person.
