Sheriff investigates string of Summit County home burglaries

SUMMIT COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

The Summit County Sheriff's Office is investigating several residential burglaries that have happened in the areas of Green and Coventry Township.  

According to authorities, all of the incidents occurred during daytime and early evening hours.  

Residents are warned that the suspect or suspects are gaining entry into homes by knocking on doors, checking homes for occupants, and subsequently forcing open a door or window.  

The suspect(s) has been stealing jewelry, cell phones, and other electronics. 
 
On October 8, 2016, around 7:51 p.m., a white man described as having short hair, approximately 6'0 in height, a heavy build, wearing black clothing and a black cap, was captured on a security camera, entering the front porch of a house in Green.

First he rang the doorbell, then left the front porch before returning and kicking the door open.

He entered the house and left through the front door a short time later.
