Deputies hope to ID man caught on camera after slew of Summit County burglaries

SUMMIT COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several residential burglaries that have occurred within the city of Green and Coventry Township.

These burglaries have been taking place during daytime and early evening hours. Authorities say the offender usually knocks on doors, checks the residence for occupants, and then forces open a door or window. The offender or offenders has been entering the residences and stealing jewelry, cell phones, and other electronics.

Around 8 p.m. on Oct. 8, a white man, about 6 feet tall with a heavy build, went onto the porch of a house in Green. Police said he is described as having short hair, though wore black clothing and a black cap on this night.

Security footage captured him kicking the front door of the home open before entering the house and exiting through the front door a short time later.

The Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance in identifying this person. If anyone has information on the identity of this suspect, please contact the Summit County Sheriff’s Office at 330-643-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 330-434-2677.
