People want to replace Joe Buck with the announcer from 'Major League'

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Fans of "Major League" are looking to replace World Series play-by-play announcer Joe Buck with Bob Uecker.

Uecker, a former catcher and play-by-play announcer for the Milwaukee Brewers, played Harry Doyle, the Cleveland Indians broadcaster, in the "Major League" films.

Over 50,000 fans have already signed a petition to replace Buck with Uecker for this very special Indians World Series.

"Bob Uecker is Bob Uecker - a national treasure," the petition reads. "And his portrayal of an Indians broadcaster in the movie 'Major League' is all-time great. Replacing Joe Buck with Uecker would put one of the truly great entertainers in the game on its biggest stage."
