Outdoorsman Donald Trump Jr. courts like-minded voters

Donald Trump, Jr visits Ashland

ASHLAND, OH (WOIO) - Outdoor enthusiast Donald Trump, Jr. pulled into the parking lot of Ashland's Fin, Feather and Fur in a vehicle made for the outdoors, an off-road Jeep.

It would be an understatement to say he landed in friendly territory. People came with handmade flags, signs and all kinds of clothing bearing the word Trump.

Trump Jr. toured the store but didn't take a chance that an archery photo op would go badly saying "If I shoot someone else's bow it's gonna be a
little bit off and on camera, oh he didn't hit right.  No way.  I only shoot my own bows at this point."

He opened his remarks with a message many ears here were waiting to hear.

"I say our passion is shooting and the outdoors, the other side's passion is messing with your rights and your freedom.  We gotta protect that at all cost," said Trump, Jr.

At other times he sounded familiar campaign themes but never got too far off the outdoors message.

The rest of the day included similar stops aimed at solidifying people already in the Trump camp.

Hillary Clinton made a campaign stop at Grandpa's Cheese Barn, not too far from the Fin, Feather and Fur parking lot. She had to have someplace
to park her buses so they put them in the outdoor store's lot.  That didn't sit too well with the customers there.  It didn't sit too well with the manager either.  He told us he politely asked them to move, which they did.
