CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Fans attending Game 1 of the World Series tonight may spot an anti-Donald Trump banner in the sky.

The banner reads "Trump tried to buy and move the Indians."

Trump once tried to buy the Cleveland Indians, according to a letter revealed by CNN's Andrew Kaczynski Sunday. Rumor has it that he planned to move the team from Cleveland if his bid was successful.

In the letter, Trump offered $13 million for the team, which was struggling with a long slump.

Francis J. "Steve" O'Neill was the owner of the Indians at the time. He died in 1983, with the team owned by his estate until Richard Jacobs purchased it in 1985.

Trump did not end up purchasing the team, although that year he did invest in the New Jersey Generals, buying the football team for a reported $9 million.

The banner is paid for by ProgressOhio, an activist group. It will fly around Progressive Field from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
