CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Women making their mark in Cleveland and making a difference in the workplace.
Robin Doerschuk is the Director of Sales for a recruiting firm and a mother of two young boys who had a vision a couple of years ago to empower, educate, and inspire other women.
"I wanted to create a space for people network with other women and grow their concerns," said Doerschuk.
That vision turned into getting hundreds of women together for the 2nd annual Women's Leadership Conference of Northeast Ohio at the Intercontinental Hotel.
The day long conference Thursday will feature a dozen leading women in our area including motivational speakers, social entrepreneurs , doctors and the partner of Jump Start, Amy Martin.
"We typically don't go on the golf course. We're spending our time with our families, our friends and we're working all day long. So to create a space where we focus just on celebrating each other, empowering each other,' said Doerschuk.
It's all part of a positive movement in Northeast Ohio and across the country spotlighting women from all walks of life networking and challenging each other to continue to achieve and pay it forward. Doerschuk says it's about women, but, men should also take notice.
"You should understand the dynamic and challenges that women face in the workplace and it will help you grow
as a leader as well," explained Doerschuk.
The Women's Leadership Conference is this Thursday at the Intercontinental hotel.
