CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Luck still going for Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor.

Francisco Lindor went 3-for-4 and scored the first run of the game in the Tribe's 6-0 win over the Chicago Cubs in Game 1 of the World Series.

McDonald, Ohio's Mia Starnes, 7, penciled a letter to Lindor before Game 1 of the American League Championship Series and she included a penny.

"I read the letter. She said put this penny in your pocket. I thought, all right," said Lindor.

Lindor now keeps the penny in his pocket for every game.

After the game Lindor said it was important to jump out early in this series and to get to Cubs ace Jon Lester.

"It's huge," he said, adding the Cubs are a good team that can turn a game around at any moment.

Lindor says the Tribe has to keep playing hard and playing the game the right way.
