DOWNTOWN CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Have you ever seen Tribe reliever Bryan Shaw warming up with a football?
There's a perfectly good reason for that (usually).
"He throws a cutter so his goal is to release a baseball like a football," said Tribe pitching coach Mickey Callaway. "You'll see him using a football to really get the feel of the ball coming off of his hand the right way so he can get the real good cut on his fastball."
Callaway joked that the rest of the time they're using a football, they're just messing around.
Game 4 of the World Series is slated for 8 p.m. The Tribe is up two games to one.
