Akron police investigating three weekend shootings

AKRON, OH (WOIO) - Akron police are investigating three separate shootings that occurred over the weekend.

The first shooting happened shortly before 6 a.m. on Saturday in the 1700 block of Goodyear Blvd. Officers responding to a fight call were notified en route that shots were fired. While officers were on scene, Akron City Hospital called and said Treyvon J. Burton, 20, had been brought in by his brother with a gunshot wound to the head. His injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

The second shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday in the 1100 block of Herman St. The victim, 27-year-old Ian C. Hickman, was shot in the back of the head. Hickman was transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. His vehicle was found on scene with several bullet holes.

The third shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday near the intersection of Fuller St. and Joy Ave. The victim, 35-year-old Michael H. Morale, was found hobbling down the street with a gunshot wound to his ankle and hand. He said he was shot while walking down the road. He was transported to Akron City Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

None of the victims were able to provide a description of the suspects.
