CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Bryan Shaw suffered the loss in Game 7 of the World Series. He was charged with two runs, the deciding two runs in the Indians 8-7 fall to the Cubs.
After the game, Shaw acknowledged that this will be a tough outing to bounce back from.
"Absolutely, It's a lot easier to bounce back when you get back out there the next day and go about your business and get back in the swing of things," he said. "Not being able to pitch again for another five or six months is going to be a little bit tougher."
The right-hander was charged with three hits and two runs. He also intentionally walked two batters. Ben Zobrist delivered the go-ahead hit with a double down the left field line off Shaw, and Miguel Montero followed with an RBI single to make it 8-6 Chicago.
Shaw had to wait through a 17-minute rain delay between the 9th and 10th innings, but said the delay had nothing to do with ineffectiveness in the 10th.
"That didn't effect anything. It was just an extra 10 minutes, just like a long inning or they make a pitching change, about the same amount of time," he said.
