Nearly $2 million in furs was discovered during an Interstate 80 traffic stop in Wood County this past week.

Troopers stopped a 2016 Chevrolet Express van Oct. 26 for speeding in a construction zone near milepost 65. The van had a New York registration.

Troopers observed large boxes located in the cargo area in plain view. They asked to view the items, and discovered 11 boxes containing 452 furs.

U.S. Customs confirmed the furs were illegally imported.
