DOWNTOWN CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - According to multiple reports, 5 million people showed up to celebrate at the Chicago Cubs World Series parade Friday.
When the Cleveland Cavaliers won an NBA Title earlier this year, it was estimated 1.3 million showed up for the parade.
Many have wondered how accurate that number is or was, but to say more than 5 million showed up feels fair.
It's worth pointing out that the population of the greater Cleveland area is estimated to be just more than 2 million. The population of the greater Chicago area is in the neighborhood of 9.7 million.
The Cubs beat the Indians 8-7 in Game 7 of the World Series on Wednesday in extra innings. It was the club's first title in more than a century.
