UNIVERSITY CIRCLE, OH (WOIO) - There were two more robberies near the campus of Case Western Reserve University in University Circle early Tuesday morning.
The first robbery happened around 12:15 a.m. on E. 115th St. between Wade Park Ave. and Ashbury Ave. Two students said they were walking on E. 115th St. when they were approached by an unknown man. After a brief struggle, the man took a cell phone and money and then fled south on E. 115th St. No weapon was mentioned.
The suspect was described as a 20 year old black male who is approximately 6'2" with a slender build and dreadlocks. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and a gold watch.
The second robbery took place around 1:30 a.m. in the same area. A student was walking down E. 115th St. when he was approached by a man who threatened the student with a glass bottle. The man took the student's cell phone and then fled northbound on E. 115th St.
The victim could not provide a description.
On Oct. 28, a woman was robbed at gunpoint while in her parked car on Hazel Rd. near the Cleveland Institute of Music building. On Oct. 31, two people were robbed at gunpoint near CWRU's campus in separate incidents that police believe may be related. On Nov. 3, another person was robbed at gunpoint on Hessler Court.
