Police ID 20-year-old killed in parking lot of Convenient Food Mart

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Police have identified the 20-year-old man who was shot and killed at the Convenient Food Mart on Denison Ave. Wednesday night as Dominic Rutherford of East Cleveland.

Witnesses said Rutherford was standing in the parking lot talking to people in a red SUV. He was then seen running away from the lot before returning on foot and being shot at by one of the car's occupants. The car then drove away.

Officers responded to calls about the shooting at 8:20 p.m. Rutherford was found lying in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to MetroHealth Hospitals, where he was pronounced dead.

Homicide is investigating. No arrests have been made.
