I'm sure most of you have started your holiday shopping. Maybe you are even one of those Black Friday people who camp out for the gotta-have-it door-busting deal of the year.
If you are, I hope you found what you wanted. It's that time of year.
It's also the time of year that charities weigh large on our minds. During Christmas, we seem to be kinder, happier, and more forgiving. We think about those in need and actively do things to help them. And we here at Cleveland 19 are doing our part.
For a sixth year we're hosting Share Your Holidays by collecting cash, non-perishable food, new and gently used coats, and new, unwrapped toys. And we make it super easy -- we have drive-up locations to drop off that stuff. Or, if you can't make it out in person, you can donate at Cleveland19.com, where we have set up an Amazon Wish List for families in need. Our link will be active after the event, so feel free to check it out and donate. All of it will be going very soon to families in northeast Ohio.
But what happens after the holidays? We all know -- the new years rolls win, winter stays cold, and everyone falls into our annual hibernation.
So as you make your resolutions for 2017, think about a plan to donate your time or your money. Even the smallest contribution can drastically improve someone's life.
And let us know. We'd love to share those stories on Cleveland 19. It's a whole lot more fun reporting the good stuff than the bad stuff.
