Strongsville police chase ends in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Two people are in custody after an early morning police chase.

It began around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday when police saw a dark colored SUV  speeding on I-71N, just south of SR-82.

The Strongsville police officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver failed to stop and sped away.

The driver took I-71N into Cleveland and exited at Denison Avenue. After crashing into a car parked at a home on Denison Avenue, the driver and passenger took off running.

Both men were quickly taken into custody.

The driver, Lequawn Gill, is charged with drug possession, failure to comply, open container, speeding and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.

The passenger, Rodney Carhon, was taken into custody by Cleveland police for outstanding warrants.
