A man stopped for speeding is facing more charges after police found a loaded gun and a hand grenade in his car.
Lane Spraggins, 20, was pulled over early Friday morning in the 2400 block area of Massillon Rd.
While walking up to the car officers noticed a semi-automatic handgun in the back of the vehicle, within the drivers reach. Further investigation determined it was loaded.
Also seen in the rear drivers side door was what appeared to be an active hand grenade.
The Summit County Bomb Squad was called and determined the grenade to be inert and of no danger.
In addition to speeding, Spraggins was charged with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle. He's being held in the Summit County Jail.
