MEDINA COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - Dean Simms appeared for sentencing on Monday morning at the Medina County Common Pleas Court. He pleaded guilty in February of murdering his brother and sister.

Simms' attorney made the case to the courtroom for future parole, but Judge Christopher Collier handed down concurrent sentences of life without parole for the two counts of aggravated murder.

In reference to the length of the sentence, Simms said to his attorney, "I figured."

His brother and sister, Randy Szychowicz and Cindy Gesaman, were found dead in a home on Babcock Road in the Hinckley Township in Feb. 2016. Simms shot his two siblings to death. At the time of the shooting, the three were living in the same home.

Initially, Simms, pleaded not guilty to the crimes, but he recently changed his plea to guilty during a Feb. court hearing.
