DES MOINES, IA (WOIO) - The Cleveland Monsters, were beat Tuesday by the Iowa Wild at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, IA by a final score of 2-1 in O.T., with the loss, the Monsters are now 35-28-4-4 this season. They currently trail the fourth-place Charlotte Checkers for the Central Division's final playoff spot by one thousandth of one percentage point with five games remaining the Monsters' regular-season schedule.

After a scoreless first period , Wild defenseman Gustav Olofsson took advantage of a bad bounce near the front of the Cleveland net to give Iowa a 1-0 lead at 19:52 of the second period.

In the third, Cleveland's Zac Dalpe scored on a power-play redirection of a Dean Kukan shot at 9:04, Daniel Zaar assisted on the play. Dalpe's goal forced overtime, but at 1:07 of the O.T.,The Wild's Tyler Graovac scored the decisive score at to deliver Iowa a 2-1 victory.
