At least 4 shooting victims sent to hospitals during violent night in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Cleveland Police reported at least 4 shooting victims were treated at area hospitals from three different shootings on Wednesday night. According to police:

  • At 5:00 P.M., Cleveland Police say two women were shot during a drive-by shooting at approximately 5:00 P.M. The incident took place in the 6200 block of Superior Avenue. The 55- and 45-year-old victims were both shot in the leg while standing in front of a store. They told police that a man was shooting from a green 4-door Toyota. The victims were taken to University Hospital.
  • At 6:30 P.M., Cleveland Police say a 19-year-old man was shot while walking in the 1700 block of East 70th Street. The victim told police that a white Volvo station wagon pulled up and approximately five to seven unknown suspects began shooting at the victim. The victim was taken to University Hospital for treatment to a gunshot wound to his arm. The victim apparently used his arm to shield his face during the shooting. The suspects fled from the scene in the Volvo. Multiple cars in the area were also struck by stray bullets.
  • At 9:00 P.M., Cleveland Police say a 23-year-old male victim was shot in the 1500 block of Ansel Road. The victim was shot in the groin and the back. He was shot in the groin and in the back. There have been no arrests made, according to police.
