Northfield students wear pink for Tessa Puma, girl who lost leg to flesh-eating bacteria

NORTHFIELD, OH (WOIO) -

A 6-year-old lost her leg to infection after strep and flu. The community is continuing to support Tessa Puma in many ways.

Friday students in Northfield wore pink, Tessa's favorite color.

Earlier this week, doctors amputated Tessa's left leg after an infection. The 6-year-old had been hospitalized for strep throat and flu. 

A talented dancer and the youngest member of the Center Stage Dance company, Tessa has been dancing since she was 3.

Her dance family has been making cards and sending thoughts, prayers and positive messages her way. The hashtags: #TessaStrong and #TeamTessa have been trending on social media.
