An incredible play by any of the members of the Cleveland Indians just wouldn't be the same without a call from Tom Hamilton.
The American League Champion Cleveland Indians have announced the full schedule of festivities leading up to first pitch at 4:10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, the Tribe’s 2017 Home Opener at Progressive Field. The game, the Tribe’s 24th Home Opener at Progressive Field, is the 25th consecutive Home Opener sellout dating back to the team’s final year at Cleveland Municipal Stadium.
Gates open at 2 p.m. The Indians encourage fans to be in their seats by 3 p.m. The Tribe takes on the visiting Chicago White Sox.
Here are the seven best Tom Hamilton calls to listen to before we're underway at the corner of Carnegie and Ontario:
"You will have a World Series."
"Lindor literally skips to the Indians third base dugout."
"A bullet two run homer down the left field line, clearing the 19-foot wall. We are tied at 6!"
"Look at that baby go! Holy cow ... that's Albert Belle territory."
"And the sweep is complete and this resilient bunch of Cleveland Indians will play for the American League pennant and a date with Toronto on Friday night."
"Now some idiot field is out on the field and I hope they beat the living daylights out of him."
"Who else? The birthday boy Jose Ramirez. Birthday number 24 is memorable."
