Struggles continue for 6-year-old girl who lost her leg


A 6-year-old lost her leg to infection after strep and flu. Tessa's mom said she is being transferred to a burn center, her wound vacs are leaking.

The mother posted on Facebook skin grafting will begin April 14.

The community is continuing to support Tessa Puma in many ways. This past Friday students in Northfield wore pink, Tessa's favorite color.

Doctors amputated Tessa's left leg after an infection. The 6-year-old had been hospitalized for strep throat and flu. 

A talented dancer and the youngest member of the Center Stage Dance company, Tessa has been dancing since she was 3.

Her dance family has been making cards and sending thoughts, prayers and positive messages her way. The hashtags: #TessaStrong and #TeamTessa have been trending on social media.
