CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Cleveland Police Department is investigating a homicide at 635 East 93rd Street. Police said the suspect, Steve Stephens, posted the video of the killing on Facebook and claimed to have committed multiple other homicides which are yet to be verified.
Facebook disabled Stephens' account shortly after he did a separate FB live explaining what he had done.
The Facebook video has been edited. Warning: After editing the video, it is still violent and difficult to watch.
Police said the victim in the video is 74-year-old Robert Goodwin, Sr.
In the Facebookpost, Stephens claimed he killed more than a dozen people. Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams said there are no other victims that the department knows of right now.
"We've checked several locations that were either in the [Facebook Live] post itself or from information we got. So far there are no more victims tied to Steve and this incident," said Williams.
The chief also asked Stephens to turn himself in.
The suspect is in this case is Steve Stephens:
- He is described as a black man
- 6 foot 1, 244 pounds
- Bald with a full beard
- Wearing a dark blue and grey or black striped polo shirt
- White or cream colored SUV
Police said he is considered armed and dangerous. If seen call 9-1-1, do not approach the suspect, authorities said.
