CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - On federal bankruptcy paperwork, alleged murderer Steve Stephens owed thousands of dollars to cash advance loan companies and collection agencies. He also stated that he did not own any guns when the paperwork was filed in 2015.
Cleveland Police said Sunday, Stephens shot and killed Cleveland man, Robert Godwin, Sr., 74, recorded it, and then uploaded it to his Facebook page. In the video, Stephens said he killed at least a dozen people. Police have not verified any other shootings or deaths.
Stephens listed his occupation as "social worker" at Beech Brook from 2012 through 2014 on the federal court paperwork.
He also said in the bankruptcy filing that he does not have "any property that poses or is alleged to pose a threat of imminent and identifiable harm to public health or safety?" He then reaffirmed that later in the petition when he said he did not have any firearms.
