CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith has had a turbulent 2016-2017 basketball season with issues on and off the court. During a December game, Smith fractured his thumb which required surgery. He was sidelined for several months. In January, while he was out, he announced his newborn daughter was born approximately five months early and weighed only one pound at birth.
Despite his earlier issues, Smith has received some good news lately. He is back on the court since his thumb injury, the Cavs are in the playoffs, and his daughter's breathing tube was removed as she is gaining more weight. He even took to social media to share the milestone; her first bottle.
Smith posted a photo on Instagram with the caption, "My boo got her first bottle today! #proudofyoubaby #kotastrong"
