Authorities on the lookout for 2 men after attempted Cleveland Heights carjacking

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) - Authorities want to get the word out about a recent attempted carjacking in Cleveland Heights.

Around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, a woman stopped at a stop sign near East Overlook and Washington Boulevard.

Authorities said two black men approached her vehicle, opened the car doors, and attempted to steal her car by physically removing her from the vehicle. They said she fought off the suspects, who eventually gave up and took off running in the direction of Coventry.

Descriptions of the suspects are below.

Suspect #1

  • 16-18 years old
  • 5'5-5'6
  • Slim build
  • High top cropped hair
  • Wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans, black shoes

Suspect #2

  • 18-20 years old
  • 6'3 tall
  • Twisted dreadlocks (length-bottom of ears), the tips of which had lighter coloring (possibly bleached)
  • Possible tattoos on his neck and hand
  • Wearing a black zip up hooded sweatshirt with a light colored shirt underneath, black jeans

Residents should call police if they see men matching this description.
